The giant pinto tortoise (Chelonoidis abingdonii) is an extinct species that lived endemicly on Pinta Island in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. It is one of the ten species of giant tortoises native to the archipelago. It was first described by Albert Günther in 1877 and the species became extinct when its last specimen died in 2012. The binomial term abingdonii refers to the other name by which Pinta Island is known: Abingdon Island. It integrates the species complex called: Chelonoidis nigra complex.
